We will start your desert tour from Marrakech at 8:00 am, in order to drive to Ouarzazate, also known as “Gateway to the Sahara”, a former caravan town on the silk and salt route in the eastern foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Then we will pass through the Berber town of Taddert and over the 2260 meters high Tizi n’Tichka pass.
After passing through Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, we will stop at the famous Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate. The Kasbah has one of the most intriguing red earth castles lining the ancient road of the Thousand Kasbahs and is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1987. We will have our lunch at the Kasbah and continue on our way to Dadés Gorge via Ouarzazate- “The Hollywood of Africa”.
On our way through the “road to the Thousand Kasbahs” & the fascinating “sand castles”, we will stop at Kalaat M’gouna, “the rose city” known for its roses and annual rose festival during the month of May. Then we will continue to our hotel in the heart of the Dadés Gorges, and enjoy a traditional Moroccan evening meal and next morning breakfast.
After morning breakfast, we will explore the sites around Dades Valley and Todra Gorges. Lunch will be taken at any of the cafés on our way. Merzouga will be the final destination of day 2. From there, camels will take us to our Berber desert camp via the Dunes of Erg Chebbi. Our stay will be at the desert camp that includes accommodation, evening meal & next day morning breakfast in traditional Berber tent. enjoy 5 days Marrakech desert trip.
Today you are going to experience one of the most memorable moments of your Morocco Sahara adventure as you make your way into the dunes of Morocco’s Erg Chebbi region of the Sahara Desert, the largest dunes in the desert of Morocco. You’ll have this morning to explore Merzouga before preparing for a memorable night under the stars. We will visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. Enjoy the panoramic view behind the Erg Chebbi of sand dunes. Afterward, we will head to the nomad’s families in their tents at Kem Kem and having tea with them, absolutely you will discover a new sense of life. And why not an hour ATV Quad biking in the dunes. In the afternoon, meet your camel, trek through the desert, over the red dunes, until all you see is sand and sky, and the quiet is only broken by the occasional snort of the camels and the soft sound of their steps on the sand. Stop to watch the sunset along the way, To arrive at your camp, where you will be welcomed with mint tea and cookies. After some time to admire the sand dunes and the surrounding landscapes, get ready for a Moroccan dinner served under the stars next to the campfire. After dinner, you will gather around the fire to admire a typical Berber music performed using drums under the sky full of stars.
After breakfast in Merzouga your destination will be Ouarzazate passing by Rissani, Alif and more Berber Villages, Also bass over Anti Atlas Mountains to Reach Ouarzazte overnight in A Kasbah Hotel.
After breakfast in Ouarzazate your destination will be Marrakech passing over High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka bends but befor you will visit the Atlas movie studio the world’s largest film studios than you will reach your riad/hotel in Marrakech . this the last day in 5 days desert tour in Morocco with Morocco Marrakech desert tours
